3C Crush, Hello 2018!

In my 3C Crush this week, I have many DIY ideas, stunning artwork, two special women, beautiful blog discoveries and a surprise parcel. Note: In case you’ve not seen these capsules before my 3C Crush are a weekly round-up of things I have read, seen and liked on WordPress & other social medias that I want to share with you.
Before I start, I must tell you why I have been behind on my weekly rendez-vous in december. One of the reasons is that I had a pneumonia and I didn’t have much energy until now. Thankfully, I had a few posts already written for the blog but in order to do the 3C Crush I need to read you first which I did during the holidays. That’s why this edition of 3C Crush is a little longer than usual. Am I forgiven? Without no further ado, here are my recent crushes.

Roda from Growing Self. I’m so glad to have met her (thanks to Darren). She is a true artist; as shown by her amazing photographies and paintings. Geissorhiza – Coloured Pencil on Bristol board by Darren Sleep
I’ve received in december an unexpected parcel from the United Kingdom. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. There is only one person I know from UK that would send me something… The Arty Plantsman! Yes, the amazing, kind, talented, funny and unique “Super D” himself. I was so touched. My eyes were blurred with tears. Darren not only sent me the original drawing of his Super D logo (which I will definitely have framed and put in my office), but included a lovely hand written letter and a beautiful card picturing his Geissorhiza drawing. Thank you so much my friend for making my Christmas extra Jolly! The Arty Plantsman!

I know I am forgetting a ton of other posts I’ve read during december. It is a wrestling match with myself every time I write my weekly –Oh, I should mention this blog from… Let’s not forget the post that made me cry… Really difficult, I’m telling you. I find it hard to admit that I just cannot mention everything I’ve read and liked. I have to accept that and let the journey to discovery continue… Have a lovely day everyone!

    1. I understand completely! My birth name is Rhonda, but I have never liked it! The beach boy song is enough to push me over the edge! In high school, my band director started calling me Roda. It stuck. I can’t think of the last time I heard my birth name!

    2. Imagine those women who have names like Angie (Stones) or Roxanne (The Police)… Thankfully, we are the author of our own story as my friend Bonnie says. I think her motto applies here. 💚

    1. Hello Angie! So nice to hear from you. Hope everything is going well for you. Thanks for visiting my friend. Oh yes, the Instagram… I have to fix the problem with my phone and get back at it. Soon! Happy New Year Angie. 😊

    1. Your kind words are like Maple Syrup, sweet and delightful. They will stick in my head all day. So as your sentence “My morning ride in the train”… Sounds like some lyrics from a beautiful song! Love it. 😍 As for Darren, well… Our meeting on WP last year was one of the best things happening to me! Thank you, Martina. You also have a special place in my heart. 💖

    1. It is truly my pleasure, Lisa. I love your artwork. I’m working on something else for you but it’s gonna take some times so meanwhile I thought at least I’ll mention you on my 3C Crush. 💚

  3. Oh, I´m so sorry you had to suffer from pneumonia, Dominique. When my mum was in hospital last year she had to share the room with patients who had contracted it after the surgery and it sounded so very painful. I hope you´re feeling much better now and please take good care of yourself!
Your post is wonderful! I actually visited Laura´s and her sister´s posts already and am determined now to make my very own lip balm and also body butter (which was on another post)! It sounds so wonderfully healthy and I could do with something against that dry skin of mine, it´s horrible this winter. And what a wonderful Christmas gift the Arty Plantsman send you!
Have a very lovely week, mon amie! ❤

    1. Thanks Sarah. I’m feeling a lot better now. Still not loads of energy but way better. I want to make the lip balm too as winter have been horrible here as well. My lips are so dry! Darren is wonderful, kind and funny. So glad I have met him through WP. BTW same with you Sarah. Have a great week!

    2. I´ve already made the lip balm but discovered that my eyes water and get irritable after a while. 😦 It seems the bees wax is a bit too strong for me (I didn´t even put the peppermint in which I would have blamed then). The texture is just wonderful though and very soothing. And it is really easy to make! My mum has no problems with it though, so at least I can give it to her. 🙂 Maybe I´ll try out a version without the bees wax.
I´m also very glad we met here, Dominique!!! 😀 xoxo ❤

    3. Oh, thank you so much for the feedback, Sarah. I was planning to make the lip balm this weekend. I just got all the ingredients… I will do two batches, with and without the bees wax! The friendship feelings are mutual my friend. 😍
