Nowadays, upcycling is the new luxury. Being conscious about what you are consuming is not only the smart and responsible thing to do, it is a way to have a very unique look. In line with this philosophy, my friend Elaine from ERA Vintage Wear creates awesome contemporary clothing with vintage pieces. Ever since I discovered her boutique three years ago I’ve been hooked. She is the reason why I do less DIY but the truth is because she just does it so much better than me. This coat that I’m wearing (see picture below) is a perfect example of her work and skills.

I am absolutely in Aww with this design that reminds me of La Moda Italiana (read effortless elegance with frivolous attitude). I almost wish the snow won’t melt too fast so I can wear my coat a little longer.
Hats off to Elaine! I’ll be the first to say that I am not in the know when it comes to the edge of fashion. At the same time, I looked this coat. I’ve never seen anything like it before. You introduced me to something new once again. Uncycled hugs from here.
Yes, the mix and match is lovely. Nowadays, leopard is considered a neutral. It can be mix with almost any pattern such as stripes and flowers. Wishing you a great week too Alison. xoxo
This will have to happen only this weekend unfortunately. Unexpected things to deal with at the moment. Nothing bad, just urgent matters. Keep well Marie.
Thank you Miriam. Apart from the lovely creation, I like the idea that this coat has a story to tell and its story is just beginning…. Have a lovely and creative week too.
I love upcycling and do it a lot with my own clothes, and this coat is just awesome!! Love the somewhat decadent attribution to a functional army design, makes it so unique which is always good. 😄 xoxo
Thank you Sarah. It is indeed a special piece that I will wear often. I’m not surprise to hear you do a lot of upcycling with your clothes. You are so creative. I always like when you show us the jewelry pieces that you create. xoxo
Hello! Thanks for visiting. And nice to meet you. I have checked your blog too and I like what I have read so far. I’ve got to go to work now but I will visit again soon and leave a comment. Have a lovely week ahead.
What a lovely piece made with a lot of thought, and it looks lovely on you. Fits very well. Elaine did a great job. Maybe it will be cooler for you a bit longer so you can wear it nice and cozy 🙂
How cool that you upcycle in your wood shop. I like to give new life to old things. Apart from the environmental reasons, it also helps to keep our creativity flowing. Cheers.
That’s wonderful, Laura. I do that too even if it drives my hubby crazy sometimes. Lol I’ve visited your blog and oh my, I do like your project. Good luck on your goal to retire early and travel the world. We only have one life to live!
Oh my!! This is absolutely fantastic!! I am in total love with this and you wear it well! I cannot wait to visit this wonderful place 💕

I agree. It takes creativity to see a new purpose for something old that was made for an entirely different use. I wish I were better at it. This was my favorite project so far: https://milfordstreet.wordpress.com/2017/06/15/thursday-doors-the-door-table/
